Thats what I call crimping!
One of the many highlights of the weekend was the knock on the door on Saturday afternoon suggesting I might like to do some serious wiring... I followed PJ dutifully to his boat whereupon I was introduced to some serious tools:
Wire cutters that could take your fingers off:
Seriously large crimpers:
and the end product:
I had a fabulous time...Thank you.

Its very impressive but what does it do?
I second the captain - out of context, what is it? some kind of earthing bond, or something?
nice to see someone else uses nylock nuts on big electrics too, though.
oh yes - and the last pic has a classic 'photographer reflected in kettle', too.

:-)
It is a 100amp shunt to fit a 75mV ammeter. The four battery cables go to two of the posts on the left hand junction box. The shunt is in the middle. All of the negative feeds (aleternator, charger etc) and the main supply cable to the -ve bus goes to the right hand junction box. The ammeter then shows all of the power going in/out of the battery bank.
