The radio said this morning that the Leeds & Liverpool is being closed for lack of water ... I haven't been past the Basingstoke lately to check there!
Apparently the reservoir for the leeds and liverpool or the water supply up there is 10% of what it should be which is alarming.
The Basingstoke only seems to have water twice a year... but I may be wrong about that. Everytime I tried to go down it it was either empty or had water but the Thames was flooded so I couldn't move anywhere anyway!
I wonder whether the Oxford will empty and I won't get home.....
The Cherwell is very low. BW have been restricted in whatthey can take from it by Thames Water. At Cropredy, when we passed on Wednesday, we couldn't moor with the stern nearer than eight feet from the bank.
WIthout more rain we could see more restrictions later in the Summer, especially as boats are heading toward Fairport @ Cropredy and IWA National at Beale Park.
I think you have photographed where I am trying to moor
Its 7" down below Banbury lock
