Tipped by the Taxi
I took a taxi this morning the cost of which was £5.60. We are taught to tip, and I was thinking that perhaps I would this time. Before I could, the taxi driver said "£5.60 please... aw go on, give me a fiver instead"

I don't think I've ever tipped a cab driver, except in the US where if you don't you might get shot.
My dear Mama told me that one always ought to tip cab drivers, the done thing being to round up, to save them fiddling with change.
But that was in the days when my grandpa worked in the city and wore a bowler and carried a furled black umbrella. It was never unfurled just held up to hail said cab!
its a scam... i'll bet you ended up giving him 6 quid.
it always works when i try it.
