Oh dear. I submitted two quotes for the repairs on my boat following the collision. It was only when the second quote came in that I realised how incomplete the first quote was.... which also turned out to be the cheaper quote. The insurance company have authorised that sum of money for the repairs.
Since then things have changed, emails have been exchanged and I am getting another quote for the repairs.
As it stands this repair is going to cost me a substantial amount of money.
I am hoping it will not cost me the pounds in money and stress that i think but I might as well get fed up while I can. The pounds in stress is enough to cause me great irritation.
Fed up.
I obviously don't know the details but don't forget that the insurance offer is just that, an offer - you don't have to accept it.
ReplyDeleteHad an instance with my motorbike. I was stationary at a junction when white van man (literally)ran up my backside. The first insurance offer was a joke and didn't even cover the minimum damage to the bike let alone my helmet and clothing but a bit of bartering and swearing later, they upped the offer to a more reasonable one.
Morel of the story, don't give up and keep your pecker up.

I am sure it will be fine. I have had a bit of practice after my motorcycle was burnt to a crisp and I am only moaning. it os stressful but everything will work out in the end. one of the boatyards is being AMAZING which is a double bonus!

I saw the dent on your bow and thought that's a bad one, it is obviously worse than it looks. I hope it works out properly for you and that those who's fault it was are the ones who pay and not you.

ReplyDeleteIt is pretty much sorted, for now, i think. The insurance company are being good. Arranging these things is rather stressful...which you probably remember from last years motorcycle incident!
