Yesterday, as I walked the fields of Thrupp, I was struck by the number of poppies spreading across the view.
An abstract from John McCrae’s In Flanders Fields:
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Must be that time of year, spookily I had a similar thought yesterday!

Hi Bones
ReplyDeleteI was in the area yesterday so I thought I'd come to Thrupp and look you up.
I couldn't find the boat, so I presume you're still on your travels.
I found Milly M but was disappointed that Maffi wasn't aboard.
I'll be around for a few more days, so I hope to catch up with you if I have the opportunity to drop by again.
Regards
Malcolm
Malcolm,
ReplyDeleteTry the tea rooms for Maffi! I am away from Thrupp until winter.
I hope you are enjoying yourself in this neck of the woods.
