BSA Bantam with conflicting documents... could be D1 could be early D3.... I should know the difference, and in due course I will. I think it is a D1 though!
Congratulations, it looks as though you even managed it without removing all the disused plastic bottles and other detritus which usually takes up at least a quarter of the car ...
yeah. The documents say it is a d3 but the engine is a 125!! Or something like that!
I would LOVE an owners manual if you have one. My dear Ma did buy me one but I can't find it after so much moving. The haynes manual I have rather typically swaps bike for the front forks!
Found it! It's a 1951 instruction manual for a D1 - Piccy here http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/juRTupsPeY64zAjXLfEwtw?authkey=Gv1sRgCPPQm_zoyNvPZg&feat=directlink If you could PM Wiltshire Moonraker on Canal World Forums can arrange to get it to you. :D
You've started something now, got me all nostalgic about them little Beezers Check out this great Norwegian! site http://www.freewebs.com/bsa_bantam/ Useful document with frame & engine numbers too about 1/3 way down the Restoration Tips http://www.freewebs.com/bsa_bantam/Engine%20&%20Framenumbers.doc
It is a runner, I have had it running a couple of times, but I started the project a LONG TIME ago, and for various reasons it ended up back in the shed.. until now.
It needs to be taken apart again, cleaned up, and put back together. I think I will have a start this weekend.
... as long as you don't mind other seats getting dirty, judging from the photos!
